Colorado STRONG:

Finding Connection in the Narcolepsy & IH Journey

About Colorado STRONG

COLORADO STRONG is a free, peer-led support group for people living with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia, as well as their families and friends.
Founded in 2013 by Christen Wernig, who has lived with Narcolepsy Type 1 for more than 40 years, COLORADO STRONG began because there were no local narcolepsy support groups in Colorado. What started as a small Denver-area group has grown into a welcoming community reaching people throughout Colorado, across the United States, and beyond.

Our vision is simple: No one living with narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia should have to face the journey alone.

We offer:

  • Monthly online support-group meetings
  • Presentations from leading sleep specialists and other experts
  • In-person social and awareness events
  • Opportunities for education, friendship, encouragement, and connection
  • A special Friends and Family Month each November

COLORADO STRONG is led by people who understand the challenges of living with a sleep disorder. We welcome people with narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia at every stage of their journey – whether they are newly diagnosed, have lived with their condition for many years, or are still seeking answers.

Together, we share support, build friendships, increase awareness, and create hope. You are not alone – and you are always welcome here.
